Somebody in this film has to keep it together while the soldiers and scientists lose the plot, and that job falls to Dr Sarah Bowman. Lori Cardille grounds the whole thing, and horror was in her blood: her dad was Pittsburgh TV legend "Chilly Billy" Cardille, the reporter you see in the original 1968 Night of the Living Dead. This 5-inch Sarah is kitted out for a bad day underground, with her zombie-wrangling snare pole, an Uzi and a pistol. The calmest person in the room, and the one most likely to make it out.
