Geoff Johns opened his New 52 Aquaman run in 2011 with a diner full of people taking the mickey out of Arthur to his face about talking to fish. Turning the punchline into the premise is exactly why that run landed. Goutaro Takeuchi's ARTFX+ is the Johns-era king, trident planted, gold scale mail over deep green, hair doing its own thing.
