Rob Zombie finished House of 1000 Corpses in 2000 and then watched Universal refuse to release it. It sat on a shelf for three years until Lionsgate picked it up. Sid Haig's Captain Spaulding, fried chicken salesman and part-time curator of the Museum of Monsters and Madmen, was worth the wait. This overhead latex mask was designed by Justin Mabry from behind-the-scenes reference photographs, and it is the closest anyone has got to that greasepaint.
