Little Nellie was Wing Commander Ken Wallis's own Wallis WA-116 autogyro, and he flew every shot himself over Japan while the stunt team worked out how to blow up helicopters around him. The name came from music hall comedian Nellie Wallace, a pun on Wallis that only a 1967 production team would commit to. Airfix's 1:24 kit gives you the yellow and black machine with its rocket pods and missiles, plus decals for the film version and the British Army trials aircraft.
