Eastman and Laird called their company Mirage Studios because there was no studio, just two blokes at a kitchen table in Massachusetts with a tax refund and a loan from an uncle. Handyman Donatello comes from those black and white Mirage comics, the version of Don who is more use with a screwdriver than a bo staff. NECA sent him out fully kitted for a job: two hammers, two wrenches, two screwdrivers, pliers and a typewriter for writing the whole thing up afterwards.
