Effects wizard Rob Bottin was barely 22 when he built the creatures for The Thing, working seven days a week and all but living at the studio until exhaustion put him in hospital. This Ultimate MacReady captures Kurt Russell at the bitter end, kitted out to torch whatever's left of the crew. He comes loaded: swappable heads and hands, the hat, a harness of Molotov cocktails, holstered revolver, lantern, lit flare and the detonator. Trust no one.
