Tetsuya Nomura, the mind behind Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, turned his imagination loose on Batman for Square Enix's DC Comics Variant Play Arts Kai line, and No.1 is the result. The design ditches any trace of the familiar and goes full dark fantasy: gloss black armour built around bat-bone structure, wicked blade extensions, mechanical remote arms that deploy from the back, and a shroud cape that makes the whole thing look like something Gotham City conjured from its worst nightmares.
