Hitoshi Kondo's Captain America for the Marvel Universe Variant line treats the First Avenger as tactical armour rather than spandex. Burn marks, grime and battle damage are baked into every surface. The redesigned shield has visible grooves and bolts where the classic version is clean, and the joints are built specifically to hold his characteristic throwing and blocking poses.
