Spare a thought for Dee Bradley Baker, the one actor who voices every single clone in The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch, holding full conversations with himself. Echo started as the squad's by-the-book stickler, earning his nickname for endlessly quoting regulations, then got blown up at the Citadel and left for dead. The Techno Union found what was left of him and wired him into their machines, until the Bad Batch broke him out. This Black Series version is that battered survivor, a clone who came back wrong.
