Tobe Hooper's crew shot the 1974 film through a Texas summer that pushed close to forty degrees, in a house full of real animal bones, and the chainsaw Gunnar Hansen swung about was a working one. Nobody was having a nice time. This is that saw at full size, 76cm of it, with motor idle and full roar on the sound feature. Hang it on the wall and let visitors work out whether it starts.
