The Exorcist became the first horror film nominated for the Best Picture Oscar in 1974, and a lot of its terror came from a voice. Mercedes McCambridge gulped raw eggs, chain-smoked and drank whiskey to growl out the demon Pazuzu, then had to fight the studio just to get her name in the credits. This Living Dead Dolls take on possessed Regan comes in her floral nightgown, wild red hair and yellow demon eyes, with the HELP ME welts reproduced on her stomach. One for the shelf that nobody walks past quietly.
