Troma turned The Toxic Avenger, a gleefully nasty 1984 splatter comedy, into a Saturday morning cartoon and a toy line, which remains one of the strangest decisions in the history of children's television. Mayor Grody was drawn up for that original 1990s toy line by Alexander Ray and Michelle Varner, shown as a prototype, then quietly dropped. Thirty odd years later Trick or Treat Studios and Troma have finally made him. He turns up with a gas mask, bandolier, B.O. Gun, a glow in the dark weapon and a pot of slime.
