In 1965 George Barris paid Ford one dollar for the Lincoln Futura, a concept car that had cost the company a quarter of a million to build and had already done a stint in a Debbie Reynolds comedy painted bright red. He sprayed it black, added the fins and the bat badges, and the rest is television. Hot Wheels' 2011 casting carries the blue bubble canopies, red pinstriping, door bat emblem and chrome five spokes, sealed on the card.
