The character's name is spelled Betelgeuse in the script, after the red giant star, and Michael Keaton improvised a good deal of what ended up on screen. Tim Burton let him run with it. Monogram's Series 1 magnets round up the 1988 cast and shrink them onto your fridge, one per bag, sealed so you have no idea which one you are getting. Say the name three times and open it anyway.
