Jay Garrick has been running since Flash Comics number 1 in 1940, which makes him older than most of the shelf he will end up on. The winged helmet started life as his father's army tin hat with a nod to Mercury bolted on, and it has outlasted every redesign since. This is his Death Metal turn from Scott Snyder's Speed Metal, heavier armour and a darker palette, part of the McFarlane wave built around the Darkest Knight build-a figure.
