Evil Dead 2 was shot around Wadesboro, North Carolina, with the cabin interiors built inside a disused school gymnasium. Raimi flooded it with fake blood and left the cast in it for weeks. The Book of the Dead is where all of that begins, and Russ Lukich's 1:1 version gets the leathery face and the weathered latex right. Open it up and there are 36 printed pages of demonic artwork inside. Do not read the passages aloud. You know how this goes.
