"Avengers assemble. Then decompose."
Robert Kirkman was already deep into The Walking Dead when he wrote Marvel Zombies in 2005, and Arthur Suydam's covers rotted out famous Marvel artwork one issue at a time. Captain America came off worst. Half his skull is gone and he still turns up for work. This Pocket Pop keeps the red eyes, the grinning jaw and the torn uniform, clawing up out of the dirt at four centimetres on a lobster clip. Cap has had a lot of looks.
