Mr Potato Head launched in 1952 as a bag of plastic face parts. No potato. Kids were expected to raid the vegetable rack, and enough of those spuds went off in the toy box that Hasbro finally moulded a plastic body in 1964. This one is stamped 1985 Playskool, Pawtucket, Rhode Island, with the bendy arms, the green cap and the hinged trapdoor in his rear for keeping the bits in. Forty years old and still pulling faces.
