Carlo Rambaldi designed E.T.'s face from three references: the poet Carl Sandburg, Albert Einstein and Ernest Hemingway. Squint at this one and you can pick out all three. NECA have gone after the stunt puppet rather than the animatronic hero, so this is the stand-in that did the rough work in 1982 while the expensive one got the close-ups. Soft to the touch, 30cm tall, big blue eyes doing the sad thing. Bicycle and red blanket sold separately, sadly.
