In Collodi's 1883 book, the talking cricket lectures Pinocchio for about a page and then gets flattened with a hammer. Disney kept him breathing, gave him a top hat and an umbrella, and handed him an Oscar-winning song. Here he is mid-laugh from the Disney Showcase flocked range, one hand up to his face, black tailcoat done in soft velvet-feel flocking over resin. Small enough to sit on a shelf edge.
