That howl? An elephant bellow mixed with a car on wet tarmac.
Ben Burtt made the TIE fighter shriek by blending an elephant's call with a car skidding on a wet road, and it became one of the most recognisable sounds in film. This Empire figure is the Imperial pilot who flies them, all-black ribbed flight suit and that sinister round-eyed helmet, blaster at the ready. He stands on the vintage Empire Strikes Back card. Faceless, doomed and weirdly stylish.
