The comic came first, and it came soaked in music. James O'Barr filled the pages with Joy Division and The Cure lyrics, which is why the whole thing reads like an album sleeve that learned to hold a grudge. This Deluxe mask works from O'Barr's own artwork rather than the film, so you get the jagged grin and hollow eyes of the drawn Crow, moulded in rigid plastic with a styled wig attached. The film came later. This is the one that was drawn.
