We work with a small network of trusted Irish businesses so every collector ends up with the right buyer for their item. Caz-Cards (Caroline) in Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim is our west-of-Ireland drop-off point for all our categories. WHAM! Comics Shop (Sam) buys comics. Retro Ralph (Amy) buys retro video games and consoles. We don't compete on everything - in a niche this small, collectors do better when good shops help each other. Below is who does what, and the thinking behind it.
The small world of Irish collecting
Collecting in Ireland is a small world. Go to enough toy fairs and comic cons and you start seeing the same faces - the same dealers, the same regulars, the same person who always knows where the hardest-to-find figure went. Word travels fast, reputations stick, and nobody stays anonymous for long.
That shapes how we run Uncanny. We could treat every other shop as the enemy and try to be all things to all collectors. We'd rather not. Some things we know inside out; plenty of things we don't. When someone turns up with a box that isn't really ours to handle, the kind thing - and the sensible thing - is to point them at the person who'll do right by it.
So over the years we've built up a handful of people we trust. We share what we know, we split postage and pickup runs where it helps, and we send each other custom. Not everything has to be cut-throat. A collector who has a good first experience comes back to the hobby - and that's good for all of us.
Quick Answers
Who buys comics in Ireland?
Sam at WHAM! Comics Shop, who we work with. We don't buy comics ourselves; Sam does, and Sam pays. He's after cheap comics, especially Panini, but not Beano, Dandy or 2000AD. Reach him at info@whamcomicsshop.com, on 083 069 9916, or at whamcomicsshop.com.
Who buys retro games and consoles?
Amy at Retro Ralph, who we work with. Retro video games and consoles aren't our area; they're hers, and she approves and pays for them. She's mostly online and at shows, so the way to reach her is her website: retroralph.ie.
Where can I drop off a collection in the west of Ireland?
At Caz-Cards on Main Street in Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim, run by Caroline. It's our drop-off point for all our categories - Caroline receives collections and ships them on to us. Agree it with us first, then bring it in. Full details: selling your collection in Leitrim.
Why do you recommend other businesses?
Because Irish collecting is a small world and collectors do better when good shops help each other. The right buyer for a stack of comics isn't the same as the right buyer for a shelf of figures or a box of old consoles. Sending you to the person who knows your item beats us taking it on and undervaluing it.
Meet the people we work with
Caz-Cards - Caroline (Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim)
Caroline runs Caz-Cards on Main Street in Manorhamilton, and she's our west-of-Ireland drop-off point for every category we handle. If you're north-west of the Shannon and you don't fancy posting a collection to Dublin or driving it down yourself, you can hand it to Caroline instead. She receives it, boxes it and ships it on to us.
The important bit: it's a drop-off point, not a valuation desk. Caroline doesn't make offers - the valuing and the offer are agreed with us in advance, so step one is always to message us before anything is dropped in. It saves you a wasted trip and keeps everyone on the same page.
How it works, start to finish, is on our Leitrim drop-off page.
WHAM! Comics Shop - Sam Lemberger (comics)
We get asked about comics a lot, and the honest answer is they're not our line. Sam at WHAM! Comics Shop is the man for those. He knows the books, he approves what he takes, and he pays for them himself - when comics go to Sam, the deal is Sam's, not ours.
What he's after: cheap comics, Panini titles especially. What he isn't after: Beano, Dandy or 2000AD. If you've a box of comics gathering dust, talk to Sam directly.

Retro Ralph - Amy (retro video games & consoles)
Old consoles, cartridges, boxed games and the bits and pieces that go with them - that's Amy's world at Retro Ralph, not ours. She approves the items and she pays for them. If you've a loft full of retro gaming gear, she's the one who'll know what it actually is and what it's worth.
Amy is mostly online and at shows rather than behind a counter, so her website is the way to reach her: retroralph.ie. Sort it with Amy first, and if it's easier, the games can even travel through our Leitrim drop-off the same as anything else.
What this means if you're selling
From your side, the network is one trusted set of people with one straight set of rules. Whoever your item is right for, the deal works the same way:
- Agree it first. Nothing moves until it's been talked through and an offer is agreed. No surprises, no wasted trips.
- By appointment. Whether it's a drop-off, a pickup or a post-in, it's arranged in advance so the right person is expecting it.
- Paid on receipt. Once your item reaches the buyer, you're paid the agreed amount - no drip-feeding, no chasing.
- Each one pays for their own category. Comics money comes from Sam, retro-gaming money from Amy, everything in our lines from us. Clear lines, no confusion about who owes what.
The point of it all is simple: the right buyer for each type of item, fair people on every end, and the same honest handling whichever door you come through.
Not sure who should handle your thing?
That's exactly what we're here for. If you're staring at a mixed box and you've no idea who buys what - comics, figures, consoles, the lot - just ask us. Send a few photos and we'll tell you straight who the right person is, even when that person isn't us.
