The Goofy holler was recorded once, in 1941, by an Austrian yodeller called Hannes Schroll for a short about skiing, and Disney has been reusing that same clip ever since. Lesney put Goofy behind the wheel in 1979 for the Matchbox Walt Disney series, a vinyl figure in driving goggles wedged into an open-top blue die-cast roadster with a silver grille. Sealed on its yellow card since then. He looks far too confident for someone with no seatbelt.
