Beeped. Whistled. Got swallowed by a swamp. Spat back out.
Kenny Baker folded himself inside that dome for the original films, and on Dagobah poor R2 takes a dunk and a snack-attack from a swamp creature before being coughed back onto the bog. This Empire figure is the muddy Dagobah version of everyone's favourite astromech, weathered deco and all, on the vintage Empire Strikes Back card. He never says a word you can understand. He is still the bravest droid in the saga.
